Dan has served as Pastor of First Presbyterian Church since 2009. Dan grew up in San Angelo, Texas, the site of an old west cavalry outpost. While attending Stanford University, Dan was·embraced by the University Ministry of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. Following college Dan moved to Seattle to serve·as a Youth Ministry Intern at University Presbyterian Church. After four powerful years·of mentoring a group of boys to become men of God, Dan was·encouraged to pursue pastoral ministry and enrolled at Princeton Theological Seminary.
Following his·theological education, Dan served at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas, as an·associate pastor for youth and college ministry for five years before moving to Montana to serve as Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Missoula.
Dan is married to Tracey and they have two boys, Cazden and Colter. Dan enjoys backpacking and reading a good novel.
Courtney Arntzen finds great joy in collaboratively creating engaging worship experiences with the intergenerational community of First Presbyterian Church of Missoula, Montana (the church made famous by A River Runs Through It). Music, once only a hobby, has become a vital part of her ministry since arriving in Missoula in 2013.
Courtney previously served as pastor of the Presbyterian Church in the rural community of Chinook, Montana. While there, she participated in launching several ecumenical ministries including a nationally recognized youth ministry, a summer lunch program, and the only rural national site in the PC(USA)'s Young Adult Volunteer program.
Courtney studied in Seattle and Australia, earning a BA in Speech Communication before moving to Vancouver, BC where she obtained an MDiv from Regent College.
She recently discovered the wonder of kickboxing which has quickly become her favorite way to pray and relieve stress. At home, she celebrates by dancing with her husband, Alec and two boys, Ezra and Elias.
